COVID-19: Nigeria Records 1301 New Cases, Lagos Cases stands at 41,951 cases


1301 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday 19 January, 2021.
NCDC made this known during their daily COVID-19 report in the country.
The 1,301 cases is lesser than the 1,617 cases recorded the previous day.

In the daily cases published on Tuesday night, Lagos had the highest number of cases with 551 new confirmed cases.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country Lagos has been the epicentre of the virus.
Lagos has had 41,951 cases out of the total 113,305 confirmed cases by the NCDC.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had the second highest cases of the day with 209 cases.
Oyo came third with 83 cases.

There were 1002 recorded discharges for the day according to NCDC.
‘Our discharges today include 702 community recoveries in Lagos State, 157 in FCT and 143 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines‘, NCDC said.
As at the time of this report Nigeria’s COVID-19 figures stands at 113,305 total confirmed cases, 91,200 discharged patients and 1,464 deaths.
