Gernot Rohr Ask Clubless Ahmed Musa Sort Out Career Before Nigeria’s AFCON Qualifiers

Nigerian Coach, Gernot Rohr has said that he’ll like to see Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa start playing for a new club after more than three months of being without a club.

Rohr, the Super Eagles coach says he wants Ahmed Musa to be back ahead of their 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.

Nigeria will face the Republic of Benin and Lesotho in their last qualifying games next month.

Musa has been clubless since October when he left Saudi Arabian side, Al Nass, by mutual agreement and has had failed talks with West Brom of England.

Rohr says he is hopeful Musa will sort out his career soon.


“We are in touch with our captain, he is in the now,” Rohr told media.

“It’s not so easy to change during the season but he is free to sign where he wants and there’s no obligation to respect the transfer window for him because he was free already.”I am very hopeful that he can sign in the next few days, he wanted to come back to Europe and to play in England so it’s not easy during the season but I’m hopeful that he can sign in the club, it’s very important that everybody is playing in their .

“It’s a long time that he didn’t play, I think since October, so he needs now to come back in the rhythm of the matches.”  “I hope to see the very soon in the stadium, it’s difficult for the fans, we have the pandemic situation for almost one year,” he added.
