Nigeria Records 1,131 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In 21 States and FCT


1131 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for Wednesday February 10.
The 1,131 fresh cases was a slight rise in infections from the 1,056 cases reported on Tuesday.
NCDC made this known in their daily COVID-19 report in Nigeria on Wednesday.
In the report, fresh cases were recorded in 21 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos which has been the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria had the highest number of cases on Wednesday with 297 fresh cases, higher than 214 cases recorded on Tuesday.
The Federal Capital Territory had the second highest fresh cases for the day with 194 cases, a rise from the 116 cases it posted on Tuesday.
Others are: Kaduna (83), Kano (59), Oyo (58), Taraba (53), Imo (52), Osun (47), Plateau (45), Edo (43), Akwa Ibom (42), Rivers (42), Ogun (29), Kwara (24), Benue (21), Nasarawa (16), Ekiti (7), Bauchi (6), Delta (6), Bayelsa (4), Sokoto (2), and Gombe (1).
Since the outbreak of the virus in Nigeria, out of the total 142,578 cases recorded, Lagos has had 52,282 recorded cases, FCT had 18,168 cases, Plateau, Kaduna and Oyo has had 8,475, 7,942 and 6,074 respectively to make up the five states with the highest cases.
At the time of this report, Nigeria’s COVID-19 figure stands at 142,578 recorded cases, 116,947 discharges and 1702 deaths.
