Nigeria Records 506 New COVID-19 Cases, Ondo, Kwara Takes Lead


506 new cases of the COVID-19 were recorded by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Sunday 7th of February 2021.
NCDC made this during their daily COVID-19 in Nigeria report.
In the report no state recorded over 100 cases.
Ondo State had the highest number of cases, the state had 90 new confirmed cases on Sunday which took the total confirmed cases in the state since the virus outbreak in February last year to 2506 cases.
Kwara state which had the second highest cases was not far behind as the state recorded 89 new confirmed cases which took the total confirmed cases in the state since the virus outbreak in February last year to 2158 cases.
Rivers recorded 53 new cases which took the total confirmed cases in the state since the virus outbreak in February last year to 5759 cases.
Lagos which has always recorded high cases had low cases as the state had 22 cases.
Lagos State has been the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria, 51,685 total cases has been recorded in Lagos alone since the outbreak of the virus.
The full breakdown of cases by state was; Ondo-90, Kwara-89, Rivers-53, Borno-45, Gombe-32, FCT-28, Imo-26, Ogun-25, Lagos-22, Kaduna-14, Kano-14, Edo-13, Osun-11, Cross River-10, Yobe-9, Ekiti-7, Kebbi-6, Nasarawa-6, Oyo-5, Jigawa-1.
At the time of this report, Nigeria has recorded 139,748 confirmed cases, 113,525 discharged and 1,667 deaths.
